Lana Wimmer, LCMHC

I love creating safe spaces that put clients at ease and working collaboratively to attend to their concerns. Whether clients face a personal loss, trauma, betrayal, addiction, anxiety, depression, life change, or other issues, I take a holistic approach, looking at all the factors – biological, social, environmental – that affect their well-being. As we approach therapy with curiosity we’ll invite new thoughts and perspectives into awareness to create needed change.I work with individuals and couples using a range of healing modalities, including Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Lifespan Integration, Mindfulness, and (AEDP) Affective Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. I’ve also trained extensively in both Gottman Method and Emotion-Focused Therapy to provide couples with assessments, education, and techniques that have been thoroughly researched and proven successful.

“Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.”

APPROACH TO THE THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP

It all begins with the power of authentic human connection. For me, this is as real as it gets. I show up and you show up and together we foster a genuine and meaningful therapeutic alliance. In my humble opinion there’s no other way to do good therapeutic work unless you feel supported and valued. When we sit together we’ll share real moments of core emotion—joy, sadness, grief, fear, anger, disgust, and excitement. There are some moments with clients I’ll never forget. Having a front row seat to people’s courage is an honor and a privilege.

Core Values

Empathy

I wholeheartedly listen and validate the experiences of my clients. My aim is to create a safe non-judgmental space where individuals and couples can explore their emotions and challenges without fear of judgment.

Resilience

Life is full of ups and downs. By empowering clients to cultivate resilience, I help them transform through adversity and build coping strategies to embrace change with strength and adaptability.

Growth

Continual learning leads to personal growth. Clients are encouraged to embrace self-discovery, stay curious, and challenge limiting beliefs. Everyone has the potential live a life they truly love.

Balance

I recognize the importance of nurturing all aspects of life so I support individuals in finding a sense of balance, integrating mindfulness, self-care, and self-compassion into their daily routines.
